Natacha Pastoukoff, volunteer in “Green World” Lugansk Regional Organization, managed to survive and achieve:
- Good integration in the association and, in general, in the Ukrainian life (new friends, pratice of sport, contacts with the neighbours, knowledge of the town – shops, museums, cinema, historical places, monuments… – etc.).
- It is above all my skills in computer which were improve (learned to use new softwares – Photoshop, Coreldraw, Flash, a lit bit Dreamweaver and Access – and, in general, to sort it out with computer). Too, I discover how to a monitoring of a territory (plants and insects), from the prospection on the territory to the entrance of the informations in the database. My knowledges in biology (plants and insects) are improved too. Finally, I was campleader during an ecological workcamp, and I had to organise the work of the volunteers, the life in the camp, the cultural programm etc.
- Discover of the Ukrainian culture (music, history, traditions, dishes…) through the participation of public or religious holydays, the meeting with people/friends, films, etc. Development of communication skills when I was campleader (manage a group, resolve problems…). More open-mindedness with people.
– After one year, I can sort it out with the every day life. I can follow and participe to a conversation with Russian speakers, resolve administrative questions, read books, write to some extent, etc.
– I will stay one year more in Ukraine (Luhansk) to be French teacher in the association “Alliance française”.
